This 22-inch round wooden shield follows the design Norse warriors carried from 793 to 1066 AD. Vikings used circular shields in the shield wall, on the deck of longships, and in single combat against axe and sword. The solid wood face holds up to repeated strikes during reenactment events. Leather grip straps on the back keep the hold steady, whether you are advancing or holding the line.
